What the initial screen checks
Manglik Dosha, also called Kuja Dosha, is a traditional interpretation of selected Mars placements. A common screen includes houses 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 and 12, but not every school uses the same house list or the same reference point. Some consider Lagna, others also examine the Moon or Venus. A result that simply says Manglik without stating the rule is incomplete. The astronomical position and the interpretive screen should be shown separately.
Reliable time is essential for houses
Lagna and houses depend strongly on birth time and place. If the time is unknown, a house-based Mars label cannot be presented as exact. A noon estimate may be sufficient to illustrate a planet’s approximate sign but it does not recover the missing ascendant. Our unknown-time chart omits Lagna and houses rather than inventing them. Before discussing a cancellation rule, verify that the placement being discussed was actually calculated from an appropriate birth record.
Why cancellation cannot be one universal switch
Traditions discuss several mitigating or balancing considerations: Mars in its own or exaltation sign, influences from other planets, different reference charts, and comparisons between both partners. The precise conditions and the meaning attached to them differ. A short website list is not enough to prove that every affected chart is cancelled. When a tool supports only selected checks, it should name them and avoid implying that the whole classical assessment has been completed.
What this implementation reports
The current matching page checks Mars houses from Lagna when both times are known. If both charts meet the selected house screen, it reports that some traditions treat the pairing as a balancing consideration. This does not alter the eight-koota total because Manglik screening is separate from those 36 points. It does not claim to calculate every Jupiter aspect or every school’s cancellation formula. The distinction prevents a limited feature from appearing more authoritative than it is.
Read a hypothetical report in order
Suppose a chart places Mars in the seventh whole-sign house. First check the recorded time, coordinates and the house convention. Next identify whether the software is screening from Lagna, the Moon or another point. Then inspect the partner chart and only the exceptions actually implemented. Do not jump from a single placement to a statement about anger, violence, widowhood or an inevitable marital outcome. The calculation cannot establish any of those conclusions about a person.
The relationship remains a human decision
Consent, safety, communication and practical expectations deserve direct attention regardless of the chart. If a family values traditional matching, the report can be discussed as part of that custom without allowing it to replace those conversations. A person should not be stigmatised or pressured to make a purchase because of a Mars label. No calculator on getVEDANGA requires payment to reveal an exception or to remove a frightening warning.
Remedies and respectful limits
A voluntary cultural observance may be meaningful to a family, but meaning is different from a demonstrated causal effect. Do not describe a ritual or gemstone as a guaranteed protection against a relationship outcome. Avoid spending under pressure, and do not mistake an astrological explanation for support with actual abuse or distress. A clear report can respect the tradition while saying honestly where the calculation stops and where practical help or professional guidance is more appropriate.
Try a small learning exercise
Choose a hypothetical pair and record the two Moon longitudes, their Nakshatras and the order of the charts. Copy the eight raw factor scores before looking at the total. Then list each supported exception separately and add only the points that the declared method restores. Check that the adjusted result can be reconstructed from the raw result. Finally, write one sentence about what the score does not measure. This keeps the exercise about understanding a framework rather than turning an unverified label into a decision about two people.
The method used on this site
Chart A uses the traditional groom position and chart B the bride position for directional tables. Vashya uses exact half-sign boundaries. Exception rules vary by school; both raw and adjusted points remain visible. Mars screening is separate from the 36 points.
Frequently asked questions
Is 18 out of 36 a scientific pass mark?
No. It is a commonly cited traditional threshold, not a validated measure of a relationship’s safety or quality. The factors and any adjustments should remain visible.
Why show both raw and adjusted totals?
An exception can change a selected school’s score. Keeping both totals shows exactly what changed instead of hiding the original table result.
Where can I check the calculation used here?
Open the related Kundli Matching · 36 Guna Milan tool and its explanation, then compare the settings with the methodology page. The calculation and its traditional interpretation should not be treated as the same kind of claim.
Is this medical, legal or financial advice?
No. The journal explains cultural and symbolic frameworks. A horoscope, numerological pattern or card draw should not replace appropriate practical evidence or professional help.

Sources have different roles: astronomical documentation supports the calculation, while traditional texts describe a historical framework. A citation does not by itself validate a personal prediction.
